Why Sage?
The sage plant has various meanings and uses across different cultures, but in the context of my therapy practice it symbolizes the potential for growth and transformation, much like the plant itself, which renews and flourishes after each pruning. Its name is derived from the Latin word salvare, which translates to heal and to be healthy.
I completed my BA at University of Iowa in 2012 and MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Northern Iowa in 2016. I worked in an agency setting for about 7 years and opened Sage Counseling and Wellness in 2024. In my free time I enjoy spending time outside with my dog, playing with my cats, cooking, exercising, completing house projects, listening to audiobooks/podcasts, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
